All-Time Series: Wooster leads the all-time series with Kenyon 57-24-3, but the Scots saw their 10-game winning streak in the series snapped last year. Wooster and Kenyon first met in 1890, with the Scots winning that contest 30-0. Wooster's program started in 1889, so the first meeting with Kenyon was the fifth game in program history and was part of six straight shutouts, as Wooster did not allow any points until a 6-4 win over Washington & Jefferson College that ended the 1890 season. Wooster scored 70 points in its last win over Kenyon. Wooster's 70 points on Sept. 23, 2023 marked the fourth-most in program history since six points started being awarded for a touchdown in 1912, and the most since the program-record 84 hung on Kenyon on Oct. 9, 2004.
Last Meeting: Wooster's dynamic fourth-quarter comeback was upended by Kenyon, which scored with six seconds remaining to knock off the Scots 32-26 on Sept. 28, 2024. Faced with fourth down on the goal line, Wooster turned to a triple-option look and
Jarvis Mims Jr. scored through the opening created by lead blockers to put Wooster up 26-25 with 5:32 remaining. A pass interference call on Wooster in the end zone with 10 seconds remaining set the Owls up at the Scots' 4-yard line with time to run two plays and then try a potential game-winning field goal if needed.
Drake Lewis erased all doubt, scoring from four yards out on the first play inside the 10-yard line with six seconds on the clock.
Offense Notes: Wooster has four passing touchdowns of at least 50 yards this season. Senior
Jordan Lewis (Akron, Ohio/Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy) had the latest, with his 80-yard touchdown reception at John Carroll. Senior
Tate Journell (Northfield, Minn./Northfield) opened the year with a 66-yard touchdown reception at Wilmington College. He added a 74-yard touchdown reception a week later against Saint Vincent College. Wooster had two passing plays of over 70 yards against St. Vincent, with Lewis capping the game's scoring with a 79-yard touchdown reception.Â
Defense Notes: Senior
Brock Sivon (Perry, Ohio/Perry) is second in the NCAC with 72 tackles on the year. Senior
Louie Lindsay (Waynesboro, Pa./Waynesboro Area Senior) continues to be among the NCAC leader in pass breakups, with 10 on the year, a total tied for first in the conference.
Special Teams Notes: Lindsay is averaging 15.2 yards over six punt returns on the year with a long of 41. Sophomore
Damion Cunningham (Shaker Hts., Ohio/Shaker Heights) has the team's longest kickoff return at 39 yards.
