Spring, Kramer, Barienbrock Named All-NCAC

The College of Wooster's Jack Spring, Ryan Kramer, and Zack Barienbrock were voted All-North Coast Athletic Conference, as announced by the conference office on Thursday afternoon. Spring was a first-team selection, while Kramer and Barienbrock were second- and third-team honorees, respectively.

Spring went 5-3 with a 2.40 ERA over 63 2/3 innings as a junior. He appeared in 12 games, 11 of which were starts, and completed three of them. Spring held the opposition to a .217 average. He allowed 19 runs on 50 hits with 58 strikeouts. Through the end of the NCAC Tournament, Spring had the second-most innings, the third-lowest ERA, and the fourth-most strikeouts within the NCAC. The two-time NCAC Pitcher of the Week earned Div. III Pitcher of the Week honors from the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association for games played April 8-14. During that span, Spring worked 13 shutout innings, during which he allowed just seven hits to go with 15 strikeouts. Headlining his outings was a five-hit shutout in a 2-0 blanking of Wittenberg University. Spring allowed a run on six hits in 7 2/3 innings at Oberlin College on April 1 and went the distance twice against Wabash College. Spring allowed four runs on 15 hits in 18 innings over the complete games against Wabash.

Kramer, a two-time All-NCAC selection, started the year with Preseason All-America honors from D3baseball.com. He led Wooster in nearly every offensive category, posting team-highs in average (.376, 67-for-178), hits, RBI (52), homers (10), and doubles (16). He had 21 multi-hit games this spring, headlined by a cycle against Keystone College on February 28. In that game, Kramer clubbed his second game-tying or go-ahead ninth-inning grand slam to complete Wooster's first cycle since 2015. He had three homers as part of a 5-for-8 doubleheader sweep over Hiram College, which officially clinched a spot for Wooster in the four-team NCAC Tournament. Kramer added five RBI and four runs in the doubleheader sweep. The first baseman started a doubleheader sweep over DePauw University with a 4-for-5 game with six RBI and two runs scored. He was a triple shy of his second cycle of the year in that win.

Barienbrock ranked second on the team with a .359 average (52-for-145) and was one of three Fighting Scots to score 33 runs. Barienbrock added 23 RBI, nine doubles, and two homers to his 2025 stat line and tied for the team-high with 28 walks. The sophomore third baseman started 37 games and finished the year tops on the team with a .469 on-base percentage, which ranked sixth in the NCAC through the end of the conference tournament. He had 16 multi-hit games on the year, led by a stretch of four consecutive games with multiple hits. He went 6-for-9 with three RBI in a doubleheader sweep of Ohio Wesleyan University, which opened NCAC play.

Wooster went 24-17-1 this spring, which included an 11-4-1 mark in NCAC play. The Scots qualified for the NCAC Tournament and advanced to the championship round of it.
