ITA All-Academic Release
The College of Wooster women's tennis team was once again named an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Team, with seven individuals received the title of Scholar Athlete.
This year's athletes recognized were
Elyse Errington,
Naledi Jani,
Willow Hernishin,
Mia Smith,
Janaki Jagannathan,
Sarah Mashaal, and
Stephanie Murarus. Both Jagannathan and Mashaal recieved the award previously.Ā
The GPA requirements for an ITA Scholar-Athlete is at least 3.5, while for the All-Academic Team selection, a team must have a GPA of 3.2 or above.
Women's tennis continues their excellence in the classroom, as earlier this year Hernishin, Jagannathan, Mashaal, and Smith were named on the North Coast Athletic Conference Dr. Gordon Colling Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll. These four were joined by Jani and Murarus for the spring semester's Athletic Director Honor Roll.Ā
Jagannathan also received the NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship, making her Wooster's 14th recipientĀ in the last five years. JagannathanĀ concluded her career as a seven-time All-North Coast Athletic Conference selection, earning four honors in singles and three in doubles. The alumna earned NCAC Newcomer of the Year honors as a first-year and became just the second player in program history to win 100 matches as a senior.Ā
