The Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association recently named several College of Wooster men's soccer players to its All-Ohio and Academic All-Ohio teams.
In addition, coach
Andy Zidron was named co-coach of the year along with
Jared Embick from Division I Akron University.
Senior
Elliot Miller was the lone Scot recognized as All-Ohio and Academic All-Ohio with a mention on the first team in both instances.
For All-Ohio recognition, sophomore
Connor Shea was named to the second team and junior
Nate Chartrand was named to the third.
For Academic All-Ohio, junior
Ioannis Aristodemou and junior
Peter Kalitka were named to the second team.
Miller adds to his accolades on the season after becoming the first Fighting Scot men's soccer player to earn All-America and Academic All-America® honors in the same season. He was also the North Coast Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year, a fourth-team United Soccer Coaches All-American and first-team all-region.
Zidron adds to his award collection on the year after being named NCAC Coach of the Year and after being a part of the United Soccer Coaches Region VIII Staff of the Year. Zidron guided the Scots to a 11-2-6 record with a trip to the NCAC Tournament for the first time since 2004.
Shea, who joined Miller on the All-Region team, tallied 14 points on five goals and four assists. Shea also was an All-NCAC Second Team selection with Chartrand, who anchored the defense and scored twice on the year..
Aristodemou and Kalitka earn their second academic award after being named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® team. The duo were workhorses as well, finishing top five on the team in minutes played.
