With three-fifths of the lineup within the field's top-10, The College of Wooster men's golf team opened the northern portion of its spring schedule with a runner-up finish at a one-day invitational, which took place on Monday at the par-72, 6,917-yard Fox Meadow Country Club. Wooster's 306 was five back of champion Ohio Northern University.

Junior Andrew Carey's even-par 72 was the runner-up score and one off a season-best. Carey started with a birdie on the par-5, 556-yard 18th hole, which was his opener of the shotgun-started round. A book-ending birdie on the par-4, 338-yard 17th hole secured the even-par finish. Carey was 1-under through seven holes, rattling off six straight pars upon turning to the front nine, and he played 15 holes at par or better on the day.

Junior Jake Cammarata and senior Mark Towns tied for 10th with 77s. Towns vaulted into the top-10 with a closing eagle on No. 18. The senior played the back nine at Fox Meadow at 2-over-par and was even-par for his final six, thanks to the eagle. Towns played 12 holes at par or better in the round.

Cammarata played his final 16 holes at 2-over-par, with birdies dropping on the par-5, 595-yard fifth hole and the par-3, 215-yard No. 13. Cammarata went 1-over-par on the back nine and had two stretches of four straight pars.

First-year Jack Kinder rounded out the 306 with an 80. He settled into the round, playing the final 14 holes at 4-over-par. Kinder had a birdie on the par-4, 341-yard 14th hole and played nine holes at par or better. He tied for 15th.

First-year Arnav Choudhary's 81 was Wooster's No. 5 from the lineup. Choudhary tied for 17th. He was 1-over-par through 10 holes and played 10 holes at par or better.
