Round one of the women's North Coast Athletic Conference Championship was suspended midround at the par-72, 5,644-yard Avalon at Squaw Creek in Vienna, Ohio. The round will resume at 8 a.m. on Saturday, to be followed by round two at 9:30 a.m.
The College of Wooster women's golf team had a majority of its round in, as the first pairing off included sophomore

Paige Nicely was on a strong stretch as the horn sounded to suspend play, as she strung together four consecutive pars, including one on the long par-5, 472-yard 14th hole. The short holes were Nicely's strong suit, as she was 1-over-par on par-3 holes for the round. She will resume on No. 16 on Saturday.
Junior
Morgan Erdmann's 11-over-par was leading Wooster's team, and she too will start on No. 16 when play resumes. Erdmann was off to a strong start at 2-over-par through seven, following her birdie on the par-3, 143-yard sixth hole up with a par on the par-4, 283-yard No. 7.

Abby Haywood's strongest stretch came just before the weather stoppage as well. A birdie dropped on the 278-yard, par-4 No. 12, with pars going in on either side of the circle on the card.
Senior
Alexis Neal sits at 34-over-par with two holes remaining in her round.
