ABCA Release

The Fighting Scots baseball team was awarded the American Baseball Coaches Association Team Academic Excellence Award for the 2026 season, presented by SportsAttack. 

In order to receive this award, the Fighting Scots maintained a grade point average of at least 3.0, which they have done for seven straight years. This year's award recipients include nearly 500 college programs.

Earlier this month, baseball named twelve athletes to the North Coast Athletic Conference Dr. Gordon Collins Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll and 24 athletes to the spring semester AD Honor Roll, joining 243 other Fighting Scots. 

The awards presented by the ABCA, including the ABCA/Rawlings All-America Teams, are the nation's oldest, as the organization was founded in 1949. The ABCA awards program also includes the ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Awards, the ABCA/ATEC Regional & National Coaches of the Year and several other major awards such as the ABCA Hall of Fame and the Dave Keilitz Ethics in Coaching Award.
