A Thursday night game this week at John P. Papp Stadium, as The College of Wooster football team (0-0, 0-0 North Coast Athletic Conference) kicks off its 2026 season by hosting Wilmington College (0-0, 0-0 Ohio Athletic Conference) at 7 p.m. on September 3. A campus Welcome Back Pregame Tailgate for Wooster students, faculty, and staff takes place from 5-7 p.m. on the Lowry Center back patio. Wooster is looking for its fifth straight win in years it plays the season lid-lifter at home. That streak dates back to 2017 when the Fighting Scots more than doubled up Bluffton University 45-21.

Ticket and Tailgate Information: Tickets for Wooster home football games are $8.00 for adults, $5.00 for senior citizens (62+) and youth (3-17) and free for College of Wooster students, faculty, and staff with your College of Wooster identification card. All-Time Series: Wilmington leads the all-time series 3-2 and won last year's opener 59-35. The teams first met in 1992, a game won by Wooster 30-20. Wilmington won the next meeting, 41-19, which marked Wooster's 1993 finale. This is the fourth straight year Wooster and Wilmington have played each other in the season opener. The teams have dominated at their respective home fields, with Wilmington winning 63-43 in 2023 and Wooster charging back to claim a 56-13 victory in 2024.

Michael Boyle (Pennsburg, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) matched a career-high with four touchdown passes and threw for 362 yards in Wooster's season-opening 59-35 loss at Wilmington on September 6, 2025. Alumnus

Brock Sivon (Perry, Ohio/Perry) was in on 13 tackles for Wooster, which marked the game high.
Offense Notes: Boyle enters his senior year highly ranked on the program's all-time leaderboard in numerous statistical categories. His 24 touchdown passes last fall were the third-most in single-season program history, and he is already tied for eighth all-time at Wooster with 34, nine shy of current head coach
Austin Holter's total from 2006-09. Boyle's 3,408 passing yards are the 10th-most in program history. Junior
Chance Bennett (Orlando, Fla./Hagerty) is Wooster's top returnee at receiver with 26 receptions and 298 yards a year ago. All-conference senior tight end
David Parker (Loudonville, Ohio/Hillsdale) earned third-team honors last fall from the NCAC.
Defense Notes: Senior
Donovon Jackson (Solon, Ohio/Solon) repeated as the program's nominee for the Allstate/American Football Coaches Association Good Works Team. He was tops among defensive linemen with 28 tackles last fall. Sivon's next tackle will be his 200th. He finished seven shy of 100 last fall. Sivon has three career interceptions heading into the 2026 season.
Christian Kring (Massillon, Ohio/Massillon Washington), another senior, tied for the team lead with three sacks last year. As a defense, Wooster allowed its fewest points  (29.8) and yards per game (380.8) since 2019 in 2025.
Special Teams Notes: Sophomore
Nolan Hendricks (Massillon, Ohio/Massillon Washington) went a perfect 29-for-29 on extra-point kicks to make Wooster the lone NCAC team whose primary placekicker did not miss on an extra-point try in 2025. Hendricks handled the punting duties as well, averaging 36.5 yards over 47 boots.
