Senior Abby Haywood fired a co-collegiate-best 76 in the opening round of the Heidelberg University Fall Invitational, where the Fighting Scots' day-one 326 marked the program's lowest round since the fall 2024 season. Wooster placed fifth of eight teams with a two-day 662 at the par-72, 5,807-yard Fostoria Country Club.

Haywood, who placed fifth with a 154, secured Friday's 76 with five straight pars to finish. The senior dropped to 1-over-par through five holes with a birdie on the par-3, 125-yard ninth hole, and had two runs of five straight pars during the shotgun-started round. Those stretches kicked off on the par-4, 359-yard No. 11 and the par-3, 166-yard No. 18. In round two, Haywood's 78 saw the senior sitting at 1-over-par through 10 holes when a birdie dropped on the par-4, 291-yard 17th hole. Haywood's third run of five straight pars for the tournament started on No. 9, which was hole two played on the day.

Senior Morgan Erdmann tied for ninth with a 158. Her opening 77 was one off a collegiate-best. She started 1-under-par through three holes, netting a birdie on the 364-yard seventh hole. Erdmann birdied the par-4, 269-yard first hole upon turning back to the front side, giving her a run of six holes played at 1-under-par. She had five straight pars in round two, starting on hole 13, and pared nine of her opening 11 holes on Saturday.

Senior Paige Nicely was next, following up her opening-day 86 with an 83. Nicely's 169 ranked 31st in the field. She shot 1-under-par on the Saturday par-5 holes at Fostoria, dropping in birdies on the 500-yard No. 4 and the 470-yard No. 12. Nicely followed her first Saturday birdie up with four straight pars and played the final five holes of the tournament at even-par.

Senior Liz Hohman rounded out the scorers, shooting a 181 for 43rd. Hohman's Friday 87 featured a 3-over-par back nine, capped by a birdie on No. 18, which enabled the senior to play the final four holes of the back side at 1-under-par.

Senior Serena Grenga shot a 201 to finish 64th. First-years Emme Braunsdorf and Anna Rodman competed as individuals in the field. Braunsdorf led the duo with a 188, which was tied for 53rd. Braunsdorf's collegiate career started with a birdie on No. 9, while Rodman's first collegiate birdie came on the par-3, 131-yard 16th hole on Saturday.

Of note, Wooster's Friday 326 marked the team's lowest round since the Scots shot that exact score in a dual with Ohio Wesleyan University on September 28, 2024.

Ohio Northern University comfortably won the eight-team event with a 613, 29 strokes ahead of runner-up University of Mount Union. The Polar Bears' Addison Williams was the medalist with a 2-over-par 146.

Next, Wooster competes at Allegheny College's Guy and Jeanne Kuhn Memorial Invitational, which takes place September 20-21 at the Country Club of Meadville.
