College of Wooster Ja'Ontay O'Bryant's game-changing interceptions landed the Fighting Scots' junior defensive back as the North Coast Athletic Conference Defensive Athlete of the Week on Tuesday.

O'Bryant became the fifth player in program history to log at least three interceptions in a game, and the first since 2007, in Saturday's 26-19 win over Kenyon College. His third interception came in the final 30 seconds of Saturday's win, and Wooster scored the go-ahead touchdown on the ensuing play.

Earlier in the fourth quarter, O'Bryant picked off Drew Morgan for the second time and ran back that interception 47 yards to Kenyon's 8-yard line. Wooster scored on the very next play and Nolan Hendricks' extra point tied the game at 19 with 8:47 to go.

O'Bryant's first interception came in the final two minutes of the first half.

As a team, Wooster recorded six interceptions, matching the program's single-game record from the 1974 Kenyon game. Wooster's eight takeaways in the win were one shy of the school record nine from a game at Oberlin College in 1989.

Wooster (1-1, 1-0 NCAC) hosts Denison University (1-1, 1-0 NCAC) at 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 19.
