The College of Wooster football team (1-2, 1-1 North Coast Athletic Conference) hits the road for Indiana, as the Fighting Scots are at Wabash College (3-0, 2-0 NCAC) for a 2 p.m. kickoff on Saturday, September 26. Wooster is coming off a 38-0 loss to Denison University (2-1, 1-1 NCAC). Wabash handled Oberlin College (0-3, 0-2 NCAC) with ease, winning 34-7 on Saturday. The Little Giants have outscored the opposition 65-7 in NCAC play thus far this year.

All-Time Series: Wooster is just 4-25 all-time against Wabash. The teams first met in 1944. Wooster's win in 2019 snapped Wabash's 14-game series winning streak. In the last Wooster win (2021), College Sports Communicators Academic All-American® alumnus Matt Pardi booted a 55-yard punt to Wabash's 20-yard line and fellow CSC Academic All-American® alumnus Matt Ulishney broke up the Little Giants' Hail Mary pass at Wooster's 5-yard line. Three-time CSC Academic All-American® - and 2023-24 NCAC Don Hunsinger Award winner (NCAC Male Sport Student-Athlete of the Year) - Lake Barrett knocked the 19-yard go-ahead field goal through the uprights with 5:29 remaining. Wabash's Jacob Handley missed a game-tying field goal from 39 yards out with 51 seconds remaining. 

Last Meeting: Wooster denied Wabash's offense four straight times from the 1-yard line in the first quarter, but the Scots could not overcome early turnovers in a 34-7 loss to the Little Giants on September 20, 2025. Then-first-year defensive back Grady Harban's (Lake Orion, Mich./Lake Orion) touchdown-saving tackle kept Wooster's deficit at 7-0 late in the first quarter. After getting denied three straight times from the 1-yard line, Wabash turned to TJ Alexander on the carry on fourth down, only to see then-sophomore defensive back Damion Cunningham (Shaker Hts., Ohio/Shaker Heights) read the play perfectly and spill the Little Giants' receiver to the turf for a 2-yard loss.

Offense Notes: Sophomore quarterback Damon Hooks (Indianapolis, Ind./Arsenal Tech) earned the bulk of the snaps in Saturday's game against Denison. He completed 16-of-37 passes for 190 yards and rushed for a team-high 50 yards on 21 carries. Hooks leads the team with 68 yards rushing, all of which have come in the last game and a half. Junior Chance Bennett (Orlando, Fla./Hagerty) leads the team with 14 receptions and 181 yards receiving.

Defense Notes: Wooster continues to play well on defense, as the Fighting Scots have held all three opponents this fall to under 400 yards. Wooster's 10 takeaways are the third-most in Div. III and two behind Texas Lutheran University for the national lead. Junior Anthony Sines (Orrville, Ohio/Wooster) is second in Div. III with 1.33 interceptions per game. He has four on the year, and with one more, would be the first to have five interceptions in a season since both Brandon James and Tyson Vogel had five in 2013.

Special Teams Notes: Junior linebacker Cam Crago (Mansfield, Ohio/Lexington) continues to lead Div. III with four blocked kicks on the year. First-year Zeek Seraphin (Boynton Beach, Fla./Somerset Canyons) has Wooster's longest kickoff return of the season at 33 yards. First-year Junie Higgs (Youngstown, Ohio/Austintown Fitch) has the second-longest at 28 yards.
