All-Time Series: Ohio Wesleyan leads the all-time series 36-33. Ohio Wesleyan won the first all-time meeting 28-0 on October 5, 1901, in what marked Wooster's first game since 1890 due to a campus ban on intercollegiate athletics. Wooster snapped Ohio Wesleyan's four-game winning streak last year.
Last Meeting: Isaac LaFay's hit on Mysaun Sanders at Wooster's 2-yard line knocked the football out, then
Brandon Torres fell on the fumble in the end zone to deny the Battling Bishops a go-ahead score in the final seconds of the Scots' 24-20 win on October 18, 2025. Ohio Wesleyan took over on its 15-yard line with 1:27 remaining, needing a touchdown for the go-ahead score. The Battling Bishops' hurry-up offense was working, as five plays had Ohio Wesleyan on Wooster's 24-yard line. Sanders took a handoff on the next play, went around the right tackle, and bounced off a couple Wooster defenders before a hit from LaFay at the two put the football on the turf.
Offense Notes: First-year wideout
Logan Hupp (Somerset, Ohio/Sheridan) has made a series of big plays of late for the offense. He is up to 125 yards receiving on the year on six receptions. Hupp has recorded at least one 20-yard reception in each of Wooster's four games this fall. Junior
Chance Bennett (Orlando, Fla./Hagerty) leads the team with 189 yards receiving on 16 receptions and first-year
Zeek Seraphin (Boynton Beach, Fla./Somerset Canyons) rounds out the trio of Wooster players with at least 125 receiving yards this fall. Â
Defense Notes: Wooster is second nationally through four weeks of the season with nine interceptions, three behind national leader Texas Lutheran University. Junior defensive back
Ja'Ontay O'Bryant (Ontario, Ohio/Mansfield Senior) became the second Scot to log four on the year in Saturday's game at Wabash. O'Bryant and junior defensive back
Anthony Sines (Orrville, Ohio/Wooster) are second nationally with four interceptions. O'Bryant has interception returns of 89 and 50 yards this fall. Junior linebacker
Cam Crago ranks third in the NCAC in sacks, averaging 0.88 per game. Wooster defensive coordinator
Mason Tomblin spent time as a defensive line coach at Ohio Wesleyan at the start of his coaching career. As a player, Tomblin was a four-year letterwinner and earned All-NCAC honorable mention laurels at linebacker for the Battling Bishops.
Special Teams Notes: Crago is now one of two players in Div. III with four blocked kicks this fall and both are from Ohio institutions. Marietta College's
Lukas Ratliff is the other. Sophomore
Nolan Hendricks (Massillon, Ohio/Massillon Washington) has a top-100 punting average in Div. III at 34.7 yards per boot.
Up Next: Wooster has its bye week before hosting Oberlin College (0-4, 0-3 NCAC) at 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 17.
