Will be a four-year starter, whether it be at third base or DH, and slotted to hit either No. 5 or No. 7 … Team captain … Has the potential to be an outstanding offensive player, according to the coaching staff … 2011: Started 20 games at third, nine at first base, six at DH, and once at catcher, while primarily batting fifth … Posted the team’s fourth-highest average (.328) for the third year in a row, to go with a career-high six doubles and 21 RBI … Walked 15 times as part of a .430 on-base percentage … Reached base safely six times during 13 plate appearances at NCAC Tournament (April 28-29), going 2-for-9 with three runs,  an RBI, two walks, and two hit by pitches … Went 3-for-3 with a home run vs. Scranton (March 22), and also 3-for-3 at Baldwin-Wallace (April 15) … 2010: Second-team all-conference award winner, thanks to a late-season tear that saw his batting average jump from .266 on April 10 to .360 … Started 36 games at third base, and recorded 23 runs scored, five doubles, one triple, and 33 RBI offensively … Reached base 20 other times (8 walks, 12 HBPs) for a .439 on-base percentage … Safely hit in all three games of the NCAC tourney, going 4-for-13 overall (.308) … Went 3-for-4 with two RBI during game played at the Cleveland Indians’ Progressive Field vs. Case Western Reserve (April 21) … 2009: Honorable mention on the All-NCAC Team as a freshman … Initially recruited as a catcher, and after seeing limited action in March, settled in as the regular third baseman (18 starts) … Also started at DH (six games), first base  (four games), and right field (two games) … Wound up with a .387 average, while delivering 24 RBI and scoring 19 runs … Selected to the all-tournament team at the NCAA Div. III Baseball Championships after batting .423 (11-for-26) with three runs, a double, and five RBI over the six-game finals … Also all-tourney during the NCAC Tournament when he hit .444 (8-for-18) with four runs and nine RBI … Three of his extra-base hits on the season came during a 4-for-6, 5-RBI effort against Wabash (May 2) in game two of the teams’ NCAC semifinal series (May 2) … Went 2-for-5 and knocked in one vs. Case Western Reserve (April 16) when the teams played at Progressive Field … Prior to Wooster: Twice all-district and three-time member of the all-Central Catholic League Team, including first-team honors as a junior and senior at St. Charles Prep … Accumulated a .334 career batting average and 67 RBI with the Cardinals … Also a standout on the gridiron, throwing for 3,030 career yards and rushing for 1,018 while totaling 24 touchdowns (15 passing, nine rushing) … Team MVP in both baseball and football as a senior … Personal: Born Sept. 13, 1989 … Son of Jeff and Cindy Vesco … Majoring in communication studies with a minor in physical education.
