Quite possibly one of the most talented left-handed hitters in NCAA Div. III, looking to build on a .396 career batting average … Has a great approach, according to the coaching staff, and often hits the ball to the opposite field, especially against lefty’s … Team captain who will bat in either the No. 3 or No. 5 hole … 2014: Selected second- and third-team all-region by the ABCA and D3baseball.com, respectively, as well as first-team all-conference … Ranked among the top-100 in NCAA Div. III in batting average (.417), hits (65), and sacrifice flies (6) … Within the NCAC, was third in batting average, ninth in runs scored (39), second in hits, fifth in RBI (39), fifth in slugging percentage (.590), and eighth in on-base percentage (.461) … Closed the year on a tear, as he hit safely in 27 of his last 43 at bats (.628), which included four doubles and a homer during that 13-game stretch … Successfully reached base in all four NCAC tourney games (May 8-10), combining to go 5-for-14 (.357) with four runs, two doubles, and an RBI … Went 7-for-9 with three doubles, a home run, and six RBI during a doubleheader sweep of Ohio Wesleyan (May 3) … In   four-game series with Allegheny (April 26-27), produced a 12-for-13, five-RBI line … Broke a school record, and tied an NCAC record, with seven hits in a game – all singles – vs. Salem State (March 12) … 2013: Steadily improved during the season as he was coming off knee surgery at the end of the fall and wound up producing a .360 average, seven doubles, and 16 RBI during 32 games (16 starts) … Started all six postseason games (NCAA Div. III Championship, NCAC Tournament) at DH and excelled with a .500 average (13-for-26), two doubles, and seven RBI … Earned a spot on the all-NCAC Tournament Team (.583, two doubles, six RBI), highlighted by a 4-for-4, three-RBI performance during championship game vs. Allegheny (May 10) … 2012: Performed well when given the opportunity, batting .381 (16-for-42) with five runs scored,  two doubles, and four RBI during 31 games (six starts) … Appeared in both of the Scots’ NCAA Div. III Championship games, including a start at third base vs. Wash. & Jeff. (May 17), and was a bright spot, going 2-for-3 with two walks … Also played in two NCAC Tournament games and hit 1-for-3 in them … Season-best outing was 3-for-4 and two runs scored at Hiram (April 17) … Had singles in his first two collegiate at bats … Prior to Wooster: Hit .489 (22-for-45) as a junior at Bishop Canevin High School en route to all-section honors that season … Standout hockey player for the Crusaders, leading them to 2011 state championship … Post-Gazette’s West Xtra high school hockey player of the year after totaling 52 points that season and 183 for his career … Also competed in golf, shooting the low round (77) in the WPIAL Division 2 finals as a junior … Totaled nine varsity letters – four in hockey, three in baseball, and two in golf … Personal: Born on July 6, 1993 … Is the son of Ken and Linda Vance … Majoring in  business economics.
