Following a record-tying Saturday,
Michael Boyle has been named North Coast Athletic Conference Offensive Athlete of the Week, as announced by the league headquarters on Tuesday morning.
Boyle matched The College of Wooster football team's single-game record with six passing touchdowns in Saturday's 49-6 rout of Kenyon College. The junior needed just 17 completions to roll up 430 passing yards, thanks to three passing touchdowns coming from at least 55 yards out. Boyle's 430 passing yards are the fifth-most in single-game program history.
Boyle went over 2,000 passing yards for the season against Kenyon, and he enters this week fifth in program history with 2,286 passing yards. He is up to 24 passing touchdowns on the year, the third-best total by a Wooster signal-caller.
After cleaning up with three NCAC Defensive Athlete of the Week honors so far this fall, Boyle is Wooster's first offensive winner.
Wooster (5-4, 4-3 NCAC) concludes the regular season on Saturday at No. 15 DePauw University (7-1, 5-1 NCAC). Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
