Box Score ROCHESTER, N.Y. – After fighting with a scoreless tie at halftime, The College of Wooster women's soccer team dropped its first game of the season, falling 4-0 to Rochester Institute of Technology in non-conference action inside Tiger Stadium.
A save by senior
Kameryn Nelson in the opening minutes got Wooster (5-1-0) off to a good start but RIT (3-0-3) managed to keep the ball in the offensive part of the field for a majority of the first half.
The Scot defense remained stout as the Tigers fired off five more shots in the half but could not put any more on frame. Sophomore
Annie Henegar had the lone look for Wooster in the 18th minute but pushed it left.
RIT senior
Elena Onodera broke the stalemate in the 48th minute, pushing the ball past Nelson low into the right side of the net. Nelson notched another save in the 51st minute before another one snuck past her.
The floodgates started to open in the 73rd minute when sophomore
Lily Doucette recorded a brace in less than three minutes of action and a four-goal lead proved too much for the Scots to overcome.
RIT dominated on offense, recording 20 shots to Wooster's one. Nelson recorded all four saves in the game.
Wooster concludes its New York road trip against Buffalo State on Sunday.
