It took until the final week of the regular season, but senior
Bella Crompton picked up her first North Coast Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week honors.
Crompton sent The College of Wooster women's soccer team to celebrations on Saturday, scoring in the 87th minute in a 2-1 win over Kenyon College. Crompton took a free kick from near the top of the penalty box and sent it right through the Kenyon defense, scoring in the top, left corner of the goal.
For Crompton, it was her sixth goal on the year, tied for second on the team.
While Wooster had already claimed its sixth NCAC title early in the week, Wooster achieved the unbeaten conference record at 6-0-1. A team had not won the conference with an unbeaten record since the 2019 season.
The victory also gave the Scots its fourth consecutive 11-win season. As the
No. 1 seed heading into the NCAC Tournament, the Scots will take on John Carroll University in the semifinal on Wednesday at Carl Dale Field.
