Q: Why did you choose to attend The College of Wooster?
A: I love the community of people here because everyone is incredibly welcoming. The academics here, especially the Independent Study project, really appealed to me as it sets Wooster apart from other schools.
Â
Q: What does being a Fighting Scot student-athlete mean to you?
A: Being a Fighting Scot student-athlete means being part of a closeknit community that lifts one another up, celebrates each other's successes, and works together to overcome challenges both on and off the field.
Â
Q: What are some of your favorite memories as a student at The College of Wooster?
A: I had the opportunity to be in a lab that worked with mice as a junior. It was very fascinating and was an experience I will most likely never have again. This year, I have been able to work at the Wooster Nursery School, which is very fun. Another favorite memory of mine is my fall break trip to the Netherlands with my teammates my junior year.
Â
Q: What is the best part about being a student-athlete at The College of Wooster?
A: The best part about being a student-athlete at Wooster is the lifelong friendships I have built with my teammates and the memorable trips we get to take together during breaks.
Â
Q: What else were you involved with on campus besides your sport?
A: I am on the Wooster Volunteer Network executive board and am currently the treasurer. I also play intramural pickleball.
Â
Q: Which College of Wooster faculty or staff member has made the greatest impact on you and why?
A: My advisor and professor, Dan Scheibe, is someone who has had a huge impact on me. He is someone who always believes in his students and has our backs. Professor Scheibe is my advisor for my Independent Study project and has been a huge part of my experience here at Wooster.
Â
Q: What other people or resources impacted your Wooster experience in a positive way and how did these people and resources set you up to be successful at Wooster?
A: Coach
Elizabeth Ford and Coach
Katie Shideler have both really impacted my experience here at Wooster. They are both incredible coaches who always want the best for us on the team. Â
Â
Q: Tell us a bit about your Independent Study project?
A: My Independent Study project examines the relation between sports performance anxiety and perceived athletic performance of student-athletes within a competition.
Â
Q: Tell us a bit about something cool you did as a student at The College of Wooster?
A: We went to the Netherlands as a team during fall break of my junior year. We played three teams there and had the opportunity to explore some of the most beautiful cities and places I have ever been to. This experience was incredible and led to some of my favorite memories with my friends and teammates.
Â
Q: Reflecting back on your time at Wooster, what advice would you give your first-year self?
A: I would tell my first-year self to enjoy herself more, not stress too much, and just live in the moment that she is in.
