Box Score 2 The College of Wooster softball team was swept by the North Coast Athletic Conference's first place team on Saturday with scores of 6-2 and 3-1.

In game one, Wittenberg jumped out early with a 2-0 first inning and only extended its lead with a three-run third. Wooster's offense did not find life until the seventh, plating two behind an RBI single fromÂ
Emma Hetkey and a sacrifice fly fromÂ

Wooster collected seven hits with two each from Hetkey andÂ
Tori Conner. Wittenberg had a two-run home run from Ava Cyphers as part of their third inning.

Jillian Meszaros started and took the loss.Â
Kaitlyn Hale pitched the final three innings.

In game two, all Wittenberg needed was a three-run third that was the result of three, two-out hits that each produced a run.

Wooster tried to rally in the seventh again. First-yearÂ
Maya Valenta produced a sacrifice fly to score classmateÂ
Shaylynn Rogaski before Wooster left the tying run at second base to end the game.

Wooster recorded six hits in the game, all recorded by different Scots. Conner pitched the first three innings to take the loss, while Meszaros faced the minimum in pitching the final three innings.

Wittenberg improves to 21-3 overall and 10-2 in the conference. Wooster falls to 16-16 and 5-7 in the NCAC.

Next, Wooster heads to Findlay on Tuesday for non-conference doubleheader against Ohio Northern University.
