Wooster's List of Sports Scholars
Seniors
Nick Bostic, football,
Colin Leslie, baseball, and
Callum Glover, swimming & diving, were recently highlighted their work in and outside the classroom by The EDULedger.com as an Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar.
Bostic was a finalist for the men's top honor, being named in the final top 10 before the group was slimmed to just four. That four featured
Zuby Ejiofor from St. John's University basketball,
Quintin Lowe from Purdue University track and cross country,
Henry Ronnberg from St. Thomas Aquinas College tennis and
Isaiah Shirley from NC State University football.
Meanwhile, Leslie and Glover were named the winner of their specific sport category. They follow in the footsteps of
Mariam Zayour '25 who won it last year for Wooster's women's swimming and diving.
Those named 2026 Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholars have maintained at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average, are at least a sophomore academically, and participate in community service. Over 900 student-athletes were nominated, and one male and one female athlete were selected as Sports Scholars of the Year.
Of the 34 sport category winners, four came from Division III schools - Wabash College, Hobart William Smith College and the two selections from The College of Wooster.
Bostic, Leslie and Glover all previously earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® honors.
Bostic, a biochemistry and molecular biology major, played in all 10 games for football whether on the defensive line or as the team's snapper.
Glover, a business economics major, broke two school records and four Timken Natatorium records as a senior.
Leslie, an education and urban studies major, was baseball's starting catcher, batting .317 with 10 home runs and 34 RBI. He was also the school's recipient of the Guldin Award.
Wooster had 22 student-athletes meet the Sports Scholar requirements, and they were broken down into first, second or third team designations below.
