The College of Wooster men's golf team could not make up the ground it needed to on Sunday and capped the year with an eighth-place finish at the North Coast Athletic Conference Championship, which wrapped up at the par-72, 6,896-yard Avalon Golf and Country Club's Avalon Lakes course. Wooster shot a 316 on Sunday to finish at 952.

First-year Arnav Choudhary was Wooster's brightest spot, carding a 2-over-par 74 to tie for 20th at 235. Choudhary's first-year was capped with an incredible par save on the 455-yard finishing hole after having to lay up out of the fairway bunker. Choudhary sank two birdies in the round, the first on the par-3, 169-yard third hole and the second on the 544-yard 11th hole. Choudhary played 14 holes at par or better.

Senior Mark Towns had another solid 76 to tie for 17th at 232. Towns turned at 3-over-par, making seven pars on the front nine. Towns nearly got to 3-over-par with a lengthy uphill putt from the fringe that just missed for birdie on his final collegiate hole. Two holes prior, Towns was spot on with a close birdie conversion on the 180-yard 16th hole. 

Junior Jake Cammarata fired an 81 on Sunday for Wooster's No. 3 score and finished in 39th at 250 for the tournament. Cammarata knocked in a birdie on the par-4, 368-yard ninth hole and played the final five holes of his junior year at even-par. Cammarata's final birdie of the season came on No. 14, a hole Wooster played at 2-under-par as a team.

Junior Andrew Carey shot an 85 to round out Sunday's 316. Carey was 37th in the field at 246. Carey had 10 pars on the day.

First-year Musa Shariff tied for 35th with a 244. Shariff fired an 86 on Sunday, led by a 5-over-par 41 on the back nine. Shariff was one of three Scots to birdie No. 14.

John Carroll University, a newcomer to the NCAC, won the eight-team event with a 898. The Blue Streaks' Wade Boyle won the Bob Nye Award as medalist, shooting a 219 for the 54-hole event.
