Anthony VanOyen won matches in the consolation singles bracket to headline The College of Wooster men's tennis team's weekend at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Central Regional Championship, which took place at Kalamazoo College.
Royse won 8-2 over Franklin College's
Jaden Wells in the consolation bracket. The sophomore opened with a 6-4, 6-4 loss against Augustana College's
Jorge Marcelo Escribano.
VanOyen downed Hanover College's
Lucas Silveira 8-2 in the consolation bracket. VanOyen opened with a 6-2, 6-3 loss to North Central College's
Henry Ros.
Junior
Bennett Dickerson and first-year
Enzo Lopes also competed for Wooster. They played in doubles, falling 8-5 to Adrian College's
Luca Coutinho and
Michael Mascarin and 8-1 to Case Western Reserve University's
Anmay Devaraj and
Rohan Bhat.
Wooster wraps up its fall season at the Ashland University Invitational, which takes place Oct. 18-19.
