NCAC Release
For the third consecutive year, juniorÂ
Anthony VanOyen of The College of Wooster men's tennis team was named to the All-North Coast Athletic Conference Second Team as announced by the conference office on Thursday.
Â
VanOyen compiled a 14-2 record and a 6-2 mark in NCAC competition playing exclusively at the No. 1 flight.
Â
The Scots ended the regular season against four ranked teams, and VanOyen walked away with victories in each. In fact, he prevailed in his final three matches after a split between the first two sets.
Â
In the NCAC Tournament, his match was left unfinished againstÂ
Dash Smith, another All-NCAC second teamer, but VanOyen held a slight 5-3 advantage in the first set tiebreaker.
Â
His only NCAC losses came against No. 1 Denison University and NCAC Player of the YearÂ
Kael Shah, and No. 14 Kenyon College and fellow second team honoreeÂ
Paulo Pocasangre.
Â
Outside of conference play, VanOyen secured a notable victory against Carleton's
Arkshay Garapati, ranked 34th at the time, with a 6-4, 7-6 (1) win.
Â
VanOyen led the Scots to a 10-7-1 record and a sixth seed in the NCAC Tournament, its first appearance since 2022.
