Led in part by a collegiate-best from sophomore
Sarah Buchholtz, The College of Wooster women's golf team turned in a season-low 358 at Sunday's University of Mount Union Fall Invitational, which took place at the par-72, 5,714-yard Tannenhauf Golf Club in Alliance, Ohio.
Junior
Abby Haywood led the Fighting Scots with a season-best 79 for a sixth-place finish. Haywood went 1-over-par on Tannenhauf's back nine with a birdie dropping on the par-4, 349-yard 17th hole. Haywood played 12 holes at par or better on Sunday.
Classmate
Morgan Erdmann was ninth after signing for an 82. Two birdies went down for Erdmann on the day, with those coming at the par-4, 309-yard 13th hole and the par-5, 443-yard 16th hole. Erdmann was 4-over-par on Tannenhauf's front nine, where she had six pars.
Buchholtz's 95 marked a collegiate-best by five strokes and was tied for 46th. The sophomore logged four pars on the day and played 12 holes at bogey or better. Two of Buchholtz's pars came on par-5 holes, and that helped Wooster go 2-under-par as a team for the day on No. 16 at Tannenhauf.
Junior
Lizzy Hohman was next, placing 55th at 102. Hohman's round was headlined by pars on both par-5 holes on Tannenhauf's back nine. She had a par on the par-3, 130-yard 15th hole, which preceded one of the back-nine par-5 holes.
Junior
Serena Grenga logged a 109 in the season debut. Two of Grenga's pars dropped on par-3 holes, which included the 158-yard eighth hole.
Senior
Alexis Neal competed as an individual and matched her collegiate-best of 97. Both of Neal's 97s are at Tannenhauf, with her first occurring during Mount Union's Spring Invitational in 2025. Neal dropped in a birdie on No. 16.
Wooster placed seventh of nine scoring teams. John Carroll's
Julia Gulla was the medalist with a 1-over-par 73.
Next, Wooster competes at Heidelberg University's Fall Invitational, which takes place Sept. 12-13 at Fostoria Country Club. Â
