Senior Salute - Ella Wolff

Throughout the spring semester we are highlighting our senior Fighting Scots with the Senior Salute series. Today's featured senior is softball's Ella Wolff. Wolff is a communication sciences and disorders and communication studies major. 

Q: Why did you choose to attend The College of Wooster? 
A: I chose Wooster because of the small community of students, athletes, and professors, the supportive environment, and the beautiful campus.  

Q: What does being a Fighting Scot student-athlete mean to you? 
A: Being a Fighting Scot student-athlete means playing for your school with pride while earning a great education.  

Q: What are some of your favorite memories as a student at The College of Wooster?  
A: My favorite memories are playing hacky sack with the team, celebrating traditions, and traveling with the team.  

Q: What is the best part about being a student-athlete at The College of Wooster? 
A: The best part about being a student-athlete is the support you feel from fellow athletes, coaches, and professors.  

Q: What else were you involved with on campus besides your sport? 
A: I am involved in the National Student Speech Language Hearing Association, Lambda Phi Eta, Communication Club, and Alpha Gamma Phi sorority.  

Q: Which College of Wooster faculty or staff member has made the greatest impact on you and why? 
A: Dr. Donald Goldberg has had the greatest impact on me. He introduced and grew my love for audiology and hearing sciences.  

Q: What other people or resources impacted your Wooster experience in a positive way and how did these people and resources set you up to be successful at Wooster? 
A: Dr. Joan Furey and Dr. Michelle Johnson were very impactful advisors for me. They helped me every step of the way during Independent Study. The writing center was a resource that helped me be successful. I felt supported in my writing when I needed help.  

Q: Tell us a bit about your Independent Study project? 
A: My Independent Study examines the life experiences of college-aged students who are deaf or hard of hearing from an educational and social standpoint, utilizing the uncertainty theory.  

Q: Tell us a bit about something cool you did as a student at The College of Wooster?  
A: I studied abroad in the summer for 10 weeks in Rome, Italy.  

Q: Reflecting back on your time at Wooster, what advice would you give your first-year self? 
A: I would say to appreciate every moment and do everything you can with 100 percent effort.
