Junior Josie Bencic earned her first North Coast Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week honors after leading The College of Wooster women's soccer team to a pair of wins last week which also gave the program its first NCAC title since 2010.

Bencic recorded her first hat trick as a Fighting Scot and her first multi-goal game of the season in the team's 3-1 win over Wittenberg University last Tuesday. The junior scored all three unassisted, including a score within the first minute of the second half.

Bencic then put the game away in the 86th minute, moving her to a conference-leading 10 goals on the season. It was also her fifth straight conference game in which she recorded a goal.

This is Bencic's third athlete of the week honor after earning the award twice as a sophomore.

Wooster then clinched the NCAC title after a 1-0 win against John Carroll University. Wooster improved to 10-3-3 overall and 5-0-1 in the NCAC, securing home field throughout the NCAC Tournament.

To wrap up the regular season, Wooster will welcome Kenyon College (7-1-7, 3-0-3 NCAC) to Carl Dale Field on Saturday.
