Cate Barkdoll lit up opposing pitchers last week for The College of Wooster softball team, batting .577 (15-26) with four doubles, a triple and 16 RBI to earn North Coast Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week honors.
The Scots went 7-1 as her 16 RBI ended up being 43 percent of the team's total RBI of the week (37). She shattered the program's career RBI record early in the week and now sits at 97 for her career.
Barkdoll hit safely in seven of eight contests, and had five multi-hit games, highlighted by a 4-for-4 game versus MIT where she recorded three RBI.
She had back-to-back games versus Chicago and Kalamazoo where she recorded a double and capped the week with her first triple of the season.
Barkdoll leads the team this year with a .450 average with five doubles and 18 RBI. Wooster (8-6) opens conference play Saturday with a doubleheader at Oberlin College.
