This Week's Outlook: The North Coast Athletic Conference champion College of Wooster men's lacrosse team (12-5, 6-2 NCAC) is the fourth seed for this week's conference tournament following the conference's pre-established tiebreakers being applied to the five-way tie atop the league standings. Second-seeded Ohio Wesleyan University (9-6, 6-2 NCAC) hosts third-seeded Denison University (8-8, 6-2 NCAC) in Wednesday's other semifinal, also at 7 p.m. The highest remaining seed following Wednesday's action hosts Saturday's championship game.

Tournament History: This is Wooster's seventh appearance and third straight in the NCAC Tournament. Wooster is in search of its first NCAC Tournament victory. This is the first time Wooster will face a team which is not Denison or Ohio Wesleyan in the semifinals. Last year, Wooster fell 19-7 to Denison in the semifinals, while two springs ago, Denison beat Wooster 14-4.
A Look Back at the Regular Season Wooster-Oberlin Game: Wooster handed Oberlin its first NCAC loss, 12-11, at John P. Papp Stadium back on April 14. Sophomore attacker
Jack Holub (Chappaqua, N.Y./Horace Greeley) scored his single-season program-record 52nd goal in the win, surpassing the 51
Steve Davidow scored in 1990 and
Shaun Peirce in 2019. Sophomore
Domenic Cuda (Latrobe, Pa./The Kiski School) collected seven groundballs and caused six turnovers.
Celebration: Wooster needed a win in regulation on Saturday to clinch a spot in this week's NCAC Tournament and win a share of the NCAC title. Wooster did just that, downing Kenyon College 13-6, pulling away with a 9-3 second half. Wooster won its second NCAC title and first since 2004 with the win over Kenyon.
The Record-Slaying Senior: Senior attacker
Lane Kellogg (Arvada, Colo./Ralston Valley) has had quite the senior year, starting by breaking a 41-year-old record for assists in Wooster's season-opening 25-3 rout at Hiram College. Kellogg passed out 10 assists, one more than
Jim Applegate had against then-Ashland College in 1985. Kellogg's 13 points against Hiram were one more than
Bill Seegar's 12 against Ashland in 1971,
Steve Williams' 12 against then-Mount Union College in 1983, and
Josh Herold's 12 against Wabash College a decade ago. Kellogg surpassed Applegate for the all-time program lead in points against Southwestern University in March when his goal with 12:22 remaining in the third period gave him point No. 257. Kellogg has 41 points since and is two shy of 300 for his career and five shy of 100 for the season. Against DePauw University, Kellogg became the first Scot to hit 45 assists in a season since 1991 and he became the program's all-time leader in helpers against Wabash, taking down Applegate's record of 132 that topped the program leaderboard since 1985.
Andy Fox's single-season records of 89 points and 56 assists were surpassed by Kellogg during last week's 11-10 win at John Carroll University. Kellogg is three goals away from tying, and four away from breaking,
Tom Bennett's all-time record of 162. Kellog is one of three in program history to score at least 150 goals, joining Bennett and
Steve Davidow (155, 1988-91).
The Havoc-Causing Sophomore: Cuda is enjoying one of the top seasons in Div. III history by a defender. His 89 caused turnovers entering the NCAC Tournament are the third-most in NCAA history since caused turnovers started being officially tracked as a NCAA statistic in 2010. University of Dubuque's
Ryan Doyle caused a division-record 100 during the 2022 season, while DeSales University's
Frank Krug caused 93 in 2019. Prior to Cuda's 89, Wooster's
Casey Steffen held the No. 3 position with his now-broken NCAC and Wooster single-season record 86 from 2023. Cuda tied Wooster's single-game program record with a dozen caused turnovers against Adrian College, marking the fifth time in Div. III history a player caused at least a dozen in a game. He has four games with at least seven caused turnovers this spring and is a three-time United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Team of the Week honoree because of it. Cuda's at 130 groundballs, with four double-digit efforts. His 130 groundballs trail
Jimmy Fisher's 142 from 2024 for tops in single-season program history.
Scoring Machine: Holub is up to 64 goals this spring, the 10th-most in Div. III entering this week. The program's single-season record-holder matched Bennett for the most goals in program history with nine against the University of Massachusetts Boston in March. Bennett scored his nine goals against Dickinson College in 1992. He has six games with at least five goals this spring, most recently against John Carroll. Holub has scored on 52 percent of his shots this spring, with that percentage ranking fifth within Div. III.
Team Dominance: Wooster is second nationally entering the week with 14.71 caused turnovers per game. Senior
Sutton Ursillo (Meredith, N.H./Tilton School) (38) and sophomore
Bennett Viverito (Boulder, Colo./Fairview) (20) have backed Cuda up to contribute heavily towards the top statistical ranking. With a high volume of pressure and caused turnovers tends to come tough sledding for the opposition when it comes to clearing the ball. Wooster boasts Div. III's third-best opponent clear percentage at 63.0, trailing State University of New York at Potsdam (61.1 percent) and United States Merchant Marine Academy (62.1 percent).
Hitting the Stride Just in Time: Sophomore
Case Lowery's (Avon, Ohio/Avon) elevated play has gone a long way for Wooster this spring. He sports a career-best 9.51 goals-against average, down nearly two full goals from last year's 11.43. His save percentage is way up at 54.3 percent, after finishing last year at just 48 percent. Lowery made a career-high 19 saves in Saturday's win at Kenyon and now has six games with double-digit saves on the year.
Starting Off with Honors: Junior
John Allen Ginder (Jacksonville, Fla./The Bolles School) earned honorable mention Preseason All-America honors from Inside Lacrosse. As a sophomore, the midfielder was a USILA honorable mention All-American. He has 16 goals and seven assists this spring to go with 24 groundballs and 10 caused turnovers.
