College of Wooster men's lacrosse sophomore goalkeeper
Case Lowery was recognized as the North Coast Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week on Tuesday for his exceptional play last week.
Lowery made a career-high 19 saves in Saturday's 13-6 win over Kenyon College with everything on the line. Wooster clinched a share of the NCAC title with the win and a spot in this week's four-team conference tournament. The NCAC title is the program's second and first since 2004, while the Fighting Scots are set to make their third straight conference tourney appearance on Wednesday.
Earlier in the week, Lowery stopped 13 shots at John Carroll University in an 11-10 win to give Wooster a chance for the conference championship and postseason berth.
Lowery is Wooster's third NCAC Athlete of the Week this spring, joining record-breaking attackers
Lane Kellogg (Feb. 24) and
Jack Holub (March 17).
Wooster (12-5, 6-2 NCAC) is at Oberlin (11-5, 6-2 NCAC) for the tournament semifinal on Wednesday, April 29. Opening faceoff is at 7 p.m.
