College of Wooster men's lacrosse sophomore attacker
Jack Holub scored North Coast Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week honors on Tuesday in recognition of his record-matching Sunday.
Holub tied Wooster's 34-year-old single-game program record with nine goals in Sunday's 17-10 win over University of Massachusetts Boston. It marked the second time a Wooster attacker netted nine goals in a game, with the other coming from
Tom Bennett against Dickinson College in 1992. Holub's nine goals marked his second time scoring at least eight times in a game this spring.
Holub scored three times in the game's opening 94 seconds and tied the record with 1:08 remaining in the contest. He now has 34 goals in seven games this spring.
Holub is Wooster's second NCAC weekly honoree this spring, joining
Lane Kellogg. This is Holub's second NCAC weekly honor for his career.
Wooster (5-2) is in action this morning at Southwestern University (4-3). Opening faceoff from Texas is set for 11 a.m. ET.
