Combined Events Results: Wooster sent
Kylie Parsons to compete in the heptathlon at Denison University this past weekend. Parsons placed 10th and scored 2,234 points. Two of Parsons' best places came in the shot put, which she won with a throw of 29 feet, 9.25 inches, and the javelin, where she placed fifth with a throw of 65 feet, two inches. What Happened Last Year: The Wooster women finished sixth of eight teams, and the Wooster men finished seventh of nine in the 2025 championships held at DePauw University. DePauw took the women's crown with 235 points, while Wabash scored 172.5 to take the men's title. The men and women each left with 4 All-NCAC titles. The women captured the champion title in the shot put (
Evie Sanford) and 100-meter hurdles (
Daysia Hargrave). Hargrave was the lone Scot to receive an invitation to compete in the NCAA Championships.
One Last Go: Sanford is the only All-NCAC returnee of the bunch as she tries to repeat as the shot put champion. Earlier this year, Sanford won the indoor title with a throw of 43 feet, five inches, holding off Denison's
Sydney Flores (40'2") who should be Sanford's main competition again. Sanford is currently the only Scot female to be ranked inside the top 100 in her respective events. Her top shot put throw of 41'9.75 places her 60th, and her top discus throw of 133 feet, five inches (a school record), places her 78th.
Throwing Buddies: The women and men throwers have consistently led the Scots this season. While Sanford leads the charge for the women,
Rob Mays III has put together quite the senior campaign. He is the men's lone top 100 placer after his All-Ohio hammer throw toss of 170 feet, 11 inches, which currently has him 85th nationally. It earned him not only All-Ohio marks but set a new school record. In addition, Mays threw a new personal best in the discus (144'11") this past Friday.
Relaying Around: Senior
Izzy Cozzie, after posting the team's best 200 run last week, will lead her 4x100 team along with sister
Eliana Cozzie,
Claire Davis and
Emeili Tarpy, hoping to best their prior time of 51.17 seconds. In the 4x400, Cozzie, Tarpy,
Ellie Fox,
Amy Gabrovsek and
Sophia Mellis are all in the mix to compete in the women's final race on Saturday.
For the men, senior
Khaleel Manderson hopes to slot in to improve Wooster's time in the 4x100. It will be a tough task as the All-Ohio squad of
William Harris II,
Franklin Adu-Baah,
Cooper Norwell and
Dasebre Ofosu-Manu had a season-best time of 42.08 seconds, and the four kept pace at Denison this past Friday, clocking in at 42.12 seconds.
In the 4x400 look for first-years
Tyler Frye and
Max Kollhoff, who have made great strides toward the end of the year, to make an impact with Manderson and Norwell.
Other Field Highlights: Sophomore
Francis Nwokonko has come on as of late as evidenced this past Friday when he won in the long jump, triple jump and 110-meter hurdles. He also ran a personal best time in the 100 at 11.09 seconds, placing seventh. Friday was also a good day for
Essaie Mezmur. He reached a season-best 6 feet, 3.5 inches in the high jump and ran a PR in the 100 at 11.65 seconds.
On the women's side,
Elizabeth Theobald has homed in on the javelin and will hope to score the team points, taking her season-best throw of 113 feet, five inches into the meet.
